Council Matters - Function
Parish Councils are responsible for open spaces in the parish, sports grounds, burial grounds, footpaths and bridleways, street lighting on minor roads, although, not all parishes have all the aforementioned.
In Chesham Bois, the
Parish Council is responsible for the following:
Chesham Bois burial ground Chesham Bois Common and Bricky Pond Land off The Grove Land adjacent to Chesham Bois School Seats within the Parish Street lighting on minor roads (Main road lighting is the responsibility of Buckinghamshire County Council - BCC) Cutting of grass verges on minor roads, which the Parish Council has taken over from BCC Chesham Bois Parish Council hold meetings on most 2nd Mondays in each month.

Planning & building control Swimming pools and leisure facilities, not privately owned Refuse collection, recycling and street litter clearance Road name signs Car parks Food hygiene Pest control Concessionary fares Council Tax Business rates Electoral Register The following should be referred to Buckinghamshire County Council:
Education Libraries Social Services Fire & Ambulance services Lighting on major roads Road traffic signs Traffic calming Potholes in the road Road maintenance Trading standards |
