THE CHURCH OF OUR LADY (Roman Catholic)
The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour (generally known as Our Lady's), was built in 1915 and extended in 1953, with the presbytery being built in 1924. Brick built, it comprises a nave and chancel. In the ceiling there is a series of paintings depicting the Way of the Cross, painted by a previous incumbent and based on the 15th century painting in the Redemptionist Church of St Alfonso in Rome.
Services at Our Lady's:- Monday 8.30 am Tuesday 8.30 am Wednesday 10.00 am Thursday 8.30 am Friday 7.30 pm Saturday 9.00 am & 6.00 pm Sunday 9.00 am & 10.30 am Weekday Mass times (Mond. - Frid.) have to be altered occasionally.
